Why do we exist? What do we do?
The quality of school education available to students from low-income communities across India is abysmal. Their chances of attending college or building a career are significantly lower than their high-income peers, condemning them to a life without voice or choice. iTeach Schools was born in 2015 to challenge this status quo and create a level playing field for ALL children.
We run free and high-impact schools and an exceptional college-to-career program for the most disadvantaged students in Pune and Navi Mumbai. We are known for our world-class professional development, our result-oriented team culture, and our student-centric school design. Read more about us at

Role Summary
2026–27 will be the founding year of iTeach’s Systemic Impact vertical — and the Manager, Systemic Impact will play a critical 0→1 role in shaping its direction. We do not yet know what iTeach’s systemic work will ultimately look like, but we do know this: in the next three years, we want to pilot 4–5 rigorous projects that test how a community of transformational schools can influence education systems beyond their own walls. This role is ideal for someone excited by ambiguity, hypothesis-driven experimentation, and systems thinking — someone who wants to help build a pathway toward city-wide educational improvement.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities fall across three major phases: Ground Research & Landscaping, Pilot Project Management, and Informing Strategy and Program Improvement.
I. Ground Research & Field Landscaping (Before Starting a Systemic Impact Pilot)
- Conduct deep research to understand local education ecosystems, stakeholders, gaps, and opportunities in partner cities.
- Map actors across the system — public schools, municipal corporations, regulators, teacher education colleges, nonprofits, curriculum bodies, families — to identify strategic leverage points.
- Work with senior leadership to select feasible, high-impact pilot ideas aligned to iTeach’s emerging theory of change (leveraging our network of high-quality PPP schools to influence the larger regional education system within which they reside).
- Build hypotheses for each pilot: the challenge, the intervention, expected outcomes, and evaluation design.
II. Pilot Project Management (Design → Execution → Reflection)
- Lead end-to-end execution of 4–5 high-stakes pilots over three years.
- Build project plans, timelines, partner coordination systems, and data-collection structures.
- Work closely with diverse stakeholders — from municipal officials to nonprofit partners to school leaders — to test real-world solutions.
- Manage field visits, workshops, training spaces, and stakeholder convenings.
- Track progress rigorously and adapt pilots based on learning and evidence.
Example pilot directions could include:
- Supporting entrepreneurs or school leaders to set up a strong PPP school network in their city.
- Co-creating solutions with municipal corporations to spread practices from high-performing PPP schools to government schools (in FLN, SEL, teacher coaching, or skills-based learning).
III. Feeding Pilot Learnings into Strategy and Program Improvement
- Codify learnings into playbooks, SOPs, tools, and frameworks that strengthen iTeach’s emerging systemic impact strategy.
- Leverage pilot learnings to feed into iTeach’s five-year systemic impact strategy.
Prerequisites:
- Required: 4+ years of experience in education, development, public policy, or system reform.
- Required: Experience working with government systems, PPP models, or education sector partnerships.
- Strong research, systems thinking, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build things from scratch and manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- High comfort with ambiguity, experimentation, and evidence-driven iteration.
- Location: this role is Pune or Mumbai-based, with some travel.
